Weekend trip to McDonald's

Anish wanted to go to McDonald's. My husband wasn't for it as he dislikes junk food but we hadn't taken Anish out in a long time and we obliged...I've gone twice inside before and I've noticed that its quite crowded. More than children, I see a lot of grown ups gorging on the burgers and french fries. Anish likes going there as he can get a toy. You have to pay for it ofcourse but its a good marketing gimmick. Last time it was a car, before that Mickey Mouse and something else. When I take him out, I let him buy whatever he wants, if its within my budget. But hubby is a lot more stricter.

Anyway, I was watching the crowd all the time I was there, as Anish was enjoying his burger and Coke and toy. Looking around I saw many families and adults who were eating more than the children. One lady got an ice cream for her child and took a large mcburger for herself and was sharing it very gingerly with her husband. At another table, a large Marwari family was seated and the man was eating like he hadn't had anything to eat in days. There were lots of couples, college going types too. I was wondering how couples could enjoy a romantic outing at such a noisy crowded place but who cares as long as you have eyes only for each other?! ;-)
It amazes me how we have taken a liking to something so American! But their menu is yum! The service is quick, the people nice to children and everyone seems to enjoy the place. It could've been a lot more cleaner though. But it seems to be living up to its image of being one for the whole family. According to this old article, the supply chain has also played a big role in its success. I really don't know about the Mcjob bit. It is a slang for a low paying job and created quite a bit of a furore sometime back. But the team seemed fine at the outlet.
We ended the trip when Anish declared he was full and happy :-) And we were happy that he enjoyed.
