Thunderbird 'Leave Home' ad

Saw the ad today in ET. My immediate reaction is a "wow"! They're urging young guys to leave home and explore the world!

Look at the image. The family is typical South Indian - mother looking so traditional, father wearing 'checked shirt' and specs and the 'mama's boy' looks like a typical young city guy and even has a Spiderman on his Tee! In the background there's a typical 'Tanjore painting'. They've captured the details perfectly.

As a kid, I always admired an uncle who used to ride an 'Enfield Bullet'. Damn it's so macho!

My mom would freak out if her son was urged to leave home ;-) I mean, responsible well educated TamBrahm boys grow up to look after their parents, not leave home for personal pleasure! Boys must take up 'secure' jobs and be there for their parents. Indulgences such as roaming on an Enfield is only in dreams!

One question that comes to mind is how come there aren't products for women that urge them to leave home too? "Why should boys have all the fun?"
