Do we really need autos in Bangalore?

No auto rickshaws in Bangalore today. The drive to office was a breeze. Wow! I wonder sometimes if there is a necessity for so many of them actually. They're noisy, obey no rules, park haphazardly, cause traffic jams and sometimes the drivers are very rude. Why have them at all?
